Reclaim and Protect

Tree Sit in the Weld Valley

The new road into the Weld

Hey Everybody

On Saturday after another community walk in, all the machines, the police caravans, and security left the forest. We were also informed that work on the road had been finished and that work in the area would not commence until after Christmas.

We took this information with a grain of salt of course and moved back into the forest on the Sunday.

So the reclamation of the forest has begun. Eddy Rd, the access road into the forest has been blocked off, and the alternative route over the Weld River has also been blocked off.

Yesterday during the day, two Forestry workers came and talked to us, and said that they had work to do in the forest and that we wouldn't be able to stop them from the work they had to do.
However I reckon we're going to be working our butts off to ensure that this remains a boast.

So come on down and help with our reclamation of the Weld Valley.

Love to you all

Post Bust

Rob or Reptile?
Man or Machine?

Photos from the first
community walk-in into the Weld Valley,
the day after the bust. On top of the excavator (Right) sits Lew Geraghty, an infamous activist of Southern Tasmania, and one of the Gunns 20.

Actions have continued every day since the bust and so far 16 people have been arrested, which makes it the largest number of arrests for a forest protest in Tasmania since Mother Cummins in 1998.

Thanks everyone for your support and I know we'll see you all here soon
